Matt Cutts on Dofollow and Nofollow
The following are some interesting videos from the GoogleGuy himself, Matt Cutts, on the subject of dofollow and nofollow links. For those who have wondered about the advantages and disadvantages, I hope these can give some clarification. Please note, however, that this is in terms of the Google search engine only – Yahoo and Bing handle links differently.

I still think nofollow is a behind-the-scenes manipulation of the natural flow of the web. I think it’s up to bloggers not to allow bad links in their comment sections. I’m sure Matt Cutts himself will not allow spam links on his blog’s comment section, nofollow or not.

I agree Ann, I’m absolutely positive that Matt Cutts would not allow spam comments on his blog. Matt had some very important points about dofollow links though.
Hey – this is of great value. god speaks and i’m all ears.. thanks for confirming things like ‘the flow of PR’ and getting good links, and letting PR flow within your own site. It seems that ‘nofollow’ is for site protection from linking to bad or untrusted sites. Matt is a true sharing gentleman and your videos are tremendous..
Matt Cutts is a master of all this SEO decision making so I’m extremely grateful that you’ve shared these authoritative videos with us. Thank you!
This is a really good video, and this is a somewhat confusing topic that has gone on for quite some time. It’s nice to see someone posting a clear resource that can at least help with crawling through all the differing opinions to the truth.
